Arthur RIMBAUD
One of the most important French poets, Arthur RIMBAUD, who inspired the surrealistic movement, lived at the Cluny Hotel in 1872, and wrote there a poem book.

" At this time, I live in a nice room (the room 62) that gives in a bottomless courtyard. The Victor Cousin Street is at the corner of the Sorbonne Square by the Bas Rhin Café, and opens to the Soufflot Street… "

The Latin Quarter, with its picturesque streets, its cafés and its restaurants, its historical buildings is really the centre of the past and present Parisian intellectual lifestyles. This subtle combination of distraction and festivity, of art and culture, of a quiet village atmosphere which blends these contrasts while keeping up with the tempo of a cosmopolitan city, one with great monuments and charming shops will make your stay a magical one at the Hotel Cluny Sorbonne.

Any more places of interest near the hotel : The Sorbonne University, The Pantheon Square, The Luxembourg Garden and its Museum, The Cathedral Notre Dame de Paris, The Mouffetard Quarter, The La Huchette Quarter, Saint Germain des Près, The Arènes de Lutèce (The only surviving ruins of the Roman conquest of Paris, known as Lutetia), the Jardin des Plantes (Botanic Garden formerly known as Jardins du Roi, created in 1635)…
